On 14 November, the renowned business award “Innovator of the Year” was presented in Berlin. Around 300 invited guests from business, politics, and society gathered at the Hilton Hotel on Gendarmenmarkt for the gala evening to celebrate innovation, exchange ideas, and honour the award recipients of the year. In this festive setting, the Brüning Group was delighted to receive the recognition as Green Innovator 2025.
RECOGNITION FOR SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION
The “Green Innovator of the Year” award, given by Die Deutsche Wirtschaft, honours companies that deliver tangible answers to the challenges of our time through sustainable concepts. The Brüning Group was nominated as part of the ETL Grünes Mandat (meaning: Green Mandate) and received the award for its business model, consistently promoting the circular economy: residual materials are recognised as valuable resources, integrated into new value chains, and made available both for material and thermal utilisation. In doing so, we are ensuring a sustainable supply of raw materials – and this is precisely what we were honoured for on the big stage.
AN EVENING TO REMEMBER
The ceremony offered an impressive programme with exciting stories of innovation and captivating laudatory speeches. Despite the generally challenging economic climate, the atmosphere was characterised by a sense of momentum, determination, and genuine enthusiasm for future-oriented ideas. The Brüning Group was represented on-site by Christian Kuntze, Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Virgin Wood, and Sustainability Manager Florentin Morick. Florentin personally accepted the award. ”Right from the start, there was a great deal of joyful excitement for me. It was a great feeling to stand on stage and see our work recognised. We were delighted by the acknowledgement of our efforts and the praise for our business model. Overall, the evening was hugely inspiring and full of engaging encounters,” he reflects. After the award ceremony, the celebrations continued in a festive atmosphere at the exclusive Berlin Capital Club.
The recognition as Green Innovator 2025 is an appreciation of our commitment to sustainability, circular economy, and climate-friendly raw material supply. It demonstrates that our efforts are being noticed and it motivates us to continue moving forward courageously – towards a greener future.
